MeleyG began singing in the choir as early as 5 years old as a member of the children’s choir. She participated in several school and church performances and participated in a dancing competition called ‘God’s Children Got Talent’ in 2015 ,reaching the quarter finals. After years of being in music and dance , she decided to go full on into music creation and has gotten into the art of working on several genres as a result of the wide diverse sounds she has been exposed to and draws inspiration from.

July of 2021 saw the release of MeleyG’s debut album Journey [ joy - in ] ,after the release of her first single ‘Party’ in 2020 and several other singles from the album before its release. The record is a collection of pop and hip hop sound centered around her journey to self love. It is something that could otherwise be seen as a musical documentation of MeleyG’s journey to loving herself, or at least the starting stage of finding worth in herself. She performed the album for the first time at the launch of her First book ,which even more amplified the good message that she hoped to spread through the album and her book ,while celebrating others who inspired the album and herself as a published author and an artist in her own right.

In 2020 , after a year of writing and recording music, I think it's safe to say that MeleyG was able to come out with something that is uniquely her and beautiful to the hearts of the listeners, but also definitely keeps you on your toes for what would be coming next in her future projects to come.
